The KanAm Grund Group has made significant advancements in implementing state-of-the-art AI technology to optimize the building operations of our property "Quartermile" in Edinburgh. In collaboration with our partner aedifion, innovative solutions have been developed that have delivered remarkable results in a short period of time.
Key measures include the adjustment of operating schedules for heating and cooling systems based on actual demand. Additionally, an AI-driven regulation has been introduced to ensure precise and efficient operations. These approaches have led to a significant reduction in electricity consumption during peak hours, resulting in substantial cost savings. Furthermore, intelligent utilization of electricity price fluctuations has been integrated through AI-based climate control algorithms.
The results of our measures are clear: energy consumption was reduced by over 10% in the initial phase, with potential for further savings of up to 10%. CO2 emissions have been lowered by more than 10%, with additional future reductions expected. The savings in operating costs exceed the investment costs for the implementation of technologies, with a projected total saving of over 20% in energy costs.
Building on these successes, we are already beginning to implement similar innovative solutions in other properties within our portfolio. This underscores our commitment to advancing sustainability and efficiency in all areas of our portfolio.
